We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced therapist to develop and deliver services in a pupil referral unit supporting a broad range of children and young people (ages 5-16) who are temporarily unable to access mainstream schools. You will be working in partnership with the leadership and staff at the school to provide specialist psychotherapeutic interventions with children and young people at the unit, assessments and consultation to support wider treatment planning, and supervision and reflective practice support for staff. Applicants need to demonstrate experience of bringing psychodynamic thinking to working with vulnerable children and their families, staff groups and organisations. They will be qualified as a UKCP/ BCP/BACP/HCP accredited psychodynamic child counsellor, or a qualified child psychotherapist accredited with the ACP. Child psychotherapists experienced in schools work and close to completing their training may be considered.  A professional education, mental health or social work background, a good understanding of child development, and an experience of personal analysis would be highly relevant.
