History

The Bridge Foundation was founded in 1983 by Sally Box, a psychoanalytic psychotherapist trained at the Tavistock clinic. The early vision was an organisation applying a psychoanalytic approach to understanding issues of everyday life, groups and organisations. The Bridge became a registered charity in 1984 and the initial activities were developed along educational lines beginning with running a series of public lectures on psychoanalysis and everyday life.

The Bridge has continued to develop these founding principles with educational, and therapeutic services, for individuals, families, groups and organisations.

The Bridge Foundation now provides therapy services for more than 100 clients every week at our premises in central Bristol and within schools across Bristol.
