n Individual Short Term Counselling Service

Who is the counselling service for?

People come for counselling for a variety of reasons; sometimes for help with a particular crisis such as separation or bereavement or to do with difficulties at work, sometimes in order to get a better understanding of difficulties in relationships. Some come for help in reassessing their life situation.

What you can expect

The counselling service offers up to 6 sessions lasting 50 minutes.

Counselling provides a safe place to talk about your emotional problems and to think about what might have contributed to them. The counsellor will help you gain a clearer picture or a fresh understanding of the difficulties you are experiencing. The counsellor is interested in helping you make sense of thoughts and feelings and patterns of behaviour in relation to other people.

For some 6 sessions are sufficient while others wish to continue the counselling experience. If the latter is the case then the counsellor can discuss with you ways of getting further help.

How do I make an appointment?

This is a self referral service and you can contact the Bridge Foundation by telephone on 0117 9424510. You will be able to speak to the administrator or to leave your name and phone number on the answering machine and our administrator will ring you back within a few days. Usually you will be offered an appointment within one to two weeks of first contact.

Fees

We charge a fee of £45 per session.
