The Bridge Foundation, a registered charity, provides high quality psychodynamic psychotherapy and counselling services (both fee paying and free) for individuals, children, young people and families. We also provide training, supervision and consultation services and run several conferences each year for psychotherapists and the general public.

Established over 30 years ago, the Bridge has gained a reputation as a centre of excellence in the provision of counselling and psychotherapy services in Bristol.

 

A vacancy has arisen for the post of Administrative and Finance Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with administration and/or finance experience to join our friendly team.

 

This role will include being responsible for completing defined administrative and finance tasks  and for providing administrative support to staff of the Bridge Foundation at 13 Sydenham Road.   

You will have experience of working in administration and/or finance, preferably within the voluntary or public sector, and will have superior ICT knowledge together with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The post will be based at the Bridge Foundation in Cotham, Bristol.

Hours:            Part-time - 21 hours (3 days per week)

We are looking for a dynamic qualified Clinical Services Manager to lead a successful and growing clinical service.  This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced psychoanalytic psychotherapist to join and develop a multi-disciplinary team of experienced clinicians with a wide range of professional training including; adult and child & adolescent psychotherapy, family and couple therapy, psychiatry, psychology and art therapy.

As a member of the senior management team, you will contribute to the strategic planning of our established and expanding clinical services. 

You will have experience of working in organisations, commitment to psychoanalytic practice and strong organisational and management skills.

Placements

From time to time we are able to offer placements for counsellors who have, or are in the process of, completing a recognised training.  We generally require volunteer counsellors to be experienced and interested in psychodynamic counselling as well as available to spend a year with The Bridge Foundation.  Vacancies for placements will appear on this page. 

 

Honorary Child Counsellors Bridge in Schools Service

 

The Bridge Foundation, a Bristol based charity providing a range of clinical and training services relating to the needs of children, young people, families and adults, occasionally has vacancies for honorary child counsellors.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for suitably qualified and experienced persons to join a lively and skilled team, and gain experience of working in a school setting. These posts are based at diverse and vibrant inner city Primary Schools, with children from a wide range of minority ethnic backgrounds and cultures.

 

We are seeking candidates with skills and experience in building therapeutic relationships with children from a breadth of social and cultural backgrounds. A professional background in education, health, mental health, or social work would be highly relevant. The successful applicant would need to demonstrate some experience of bringing psychodynamic thinking to working with children.

 

Equally this post would suit counsellors and therapists with an interest in developing their practice in a multi-cultural community setting. Applicants in the final year of their training will be considered depending on experience.

 

The posts will be for 1 1.5 days per week, comprised of 2-3 sessions in school (specific day to be agreed) and half a day attending a supervision group and staff meetings on Wednesday afternoons based at the Bridge Foundation.

 

Volunteer therapists/counsellors carry a caseload of up to 3 clinical sessions a week and will be required make a commitment to weekly work during term time for a minimum of one year.

 

Child protection and other relevant training is provided in line with service requirements.

 

Volunteers are eligible for reimbursement of some expenses incurred while delivering work for the Bridge Foundation.
